Exactly. That's what ours does and I've been surprised at how well is does follow the contour of the land/provide an even cut...even with fairly steep changes in the incline. One thing I've noticed though, on rough ground, the mower really takes a beating since it's riding on the ground on it's own weight...just sort of being dragged along by the tractor. So I wouldn't recommend a finish mower for really rough ground unless you buy a really sturdy unit.
