Fire extinguisher

Here is mine. Mounted on the ROPS with my own bracket. I still maintained the ease of pulling the fire extinguisher fast. It just slides on a little hook on the top, while the bottom just have a strap that allow for the fire extinguisher to slide in.

I too had difficulty finding the best mount and ended up going with a nylon version that straps on. Has worked extremely well for me and was easy to remove from my old tractor to my new.

I would recommended that you wrap some Scotch tape or a bread tie through your safety pin so it doesn't get snagged by brush, or fall out due to vibration.

I’m more impressed by the nylon version that straps the tractor to the wall than I am the extinguisher straps!

Scrap pile chainsaw, chain and tool holder. 5” square tube and 2x5” rectangle tube split. Bolt with spring for clamp. Doesn’t really need a clamp. Uses factory plastic blade guard which helps moving saw from shop, truck or worksite. Note adjustable rubber foot to add support for the saw. 1/2 plate on bottom. Welded to loader upright. Can safely carry chain, saw or tools on tractor.

I have one mounted to the right side of my steering column in my cab. For those with a cab, make sure it can be reached from the ground outside of the cab.

Just a thought on fire extinguishers in general. I worked in health care and every year the fire extinguisher company came by and did inspections. When I bought my home extinguisher I bought from the same company and I take it in every few years for inspection. The last time they did a more complete periodic maintenance that cost a nominal amount. The point is to know what your extinguisher needs and have it checked so it is ready to go when you need it.

Do they shake them as part of the inspection to ensure that the dry chemical doesn't settle into hard pack at the bottom?
Or just strap a new inspection tag on them?
Cause you should shake them once a year or so.

Our stable crew foreman has extinguishers serviced twice, then after that they are replaced. She donates the original ones to charity.

Her husband had a background with dry chemical fire extinguishers and she feels this is the best method, based on his knowledge. I can't vouch for it one way or another.

I’ve never heard that one......especially with the metal heads.

You guys just reminded me to buy one and install it. I just never think about it but I have to do that before it's to late..

The best reminder is only one little fire.
I have had two.
One little one, and one BIG one!
