Personally I dont care if someone is selling firearms in the microwave and washing machine section, just as long background checks are done by a licence somebody. How exactly does this selling receiving firearms work, if a firearm goes to a dealer does that dealler get paid a percentage or something for doing background checking?

Local dealer here charges a flat $35. If you fail the background check you do not get your money back on the check. Of course you get your $$ back on the gun because you did not buy it.

So what advantage is there on buying a firearm online? Might as well go to the local gun shop and have him order the gun for me.

I would think that the place where a firearm is bought, like halfway across the country, that dealer should be able to do all the background checks, all information can be given there for for the that dealer to say yea or nay, then I could have the gun delivered to my house like everything else is.

("Not acceptable to list items under incorrect categories or brands.")<<<<<<<<<<<<So can I still sell my John Deere washing machine in the John Deere tractor classified section................

Guy in Montana has a used handgun you'd like to purchase. You live on the other side of the country in a state with strict handgun transfer laws. Pay $35 to a dealer in your state and he'll take care of all the paperwork for you. Easy peasy. ;)

"May be wrong but if they are shipping a gun whether dealer or not it must be shipped to Federal Firearm Licensed dealer."

In FLA, I have shipped a few rifles to other private individuals, via USPS. Totally legit.

Some areas may be limited to specific brands & models of guns. And just like everything else on the internet, it is cheaper. I purchased a handgun online from KyGunCo & saved over 2 hundred $$. Hard to beat their prices.

If the multiple gun ad which I referred to was legitimate he wouldn't have felt the need to list it as a John Deere tractor, then change the ad once it got listed. The guy was selling multiple handguns, AR-15s, and various other firearms. There are sites such as Gunbroker.com for people who want to legally do so; shipping must be done from a licensed dealer to a licensed dealer, so everything should be legal. I've bought several guns that way, so I know how it works.

Every right includes an equal amount of responsibility. If we gun owners don't take action to keep them out of the hands of people who abuse them; there are too many who would love to step in and take our rights away. I felt (feel) that something was hinky about the ad and that it should be brought to somebody's attention but couldn't immediately figure out how other than to start this thread.
In hindsight I believe that clicking on a monitor's name would have allowed me to drop a note, then they could decide if anything needed to be done.

I bought a Smith & Wesson 10mm pistol from a dealer out west and had it shipped to a dealer in MA.

They are no longer in production and there are only three or four for sale in the whole country at any given time.
