I think I'd have to lay it down to get a horizontal cut... but with my dirt bike riding skills, laying it down shouldn't be much of a problem.... ;)

I am new to site and need to ask a question about a Power Trac PT 425. Where do I post to get to Power Trac owners?

This is the time of year I put on the brush hog and go to town. all that weedy stuff... knock it down, make it park like. If I wait too long it becomes way too grown in to know if I am about to fall into some crazy trap the previous owner left for me.

I have to say Moss I am always impressed with what you guys do with the 425 line. Pretty amazing how much you get done with that machine.

Spent some quality time in the woods today. Last week I dropped several dozen small locust, cherry and sassafras trees for firewood. I'm clearing them out of a maple grove. So far, in the past 8-10 years, I've removed 4-500 trees this size. Today, I pulled about 30 of them out. It's about 400 yard trip each way to the area where I dropped them to this landing where I'll cut and split and take home, about 9 miles away.

I used my log tongs chained in a ring in a 2" receiver on my spare quick attach plate. It works really well and I only had to get off the tractor about 4 times to position or release them. The rest of the time I was able to do it just with the joystick and steering wheel.

It amazes me, too. What I really like about it is the tight spots I can get in and out of without doing much damage to the soil.

And I only got "TREE'd" once yesterday.... you PT owners can guess what I mean by that! ;)

 yup thats why I love having the backhoe behind me all the time......just drop it to lift up the back end and push myself out of whatever stupid position I managed to get myself into......again!..... .......I'm glad there's no one around to watch........Jack
