Shoppintractors,

Thanks, that's a nice lift. Gives me some ideas. Pineridge what's your website, I didn't see it mentioned in the bio?

I did that once when I needed more stuff than I could easily haul up a ladder. Most of the time, a ladder makes an easier platform to move and position just by itself. I used to get my girlfriend to raise me up in the bucket with three 50-lb bags of corn to fill my deer feeder. Then I bought her a Kawasaki Mule and I can stand in the bed and fill the feeder now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you don't want to remove your cutter bar to install a toothbar, check with KC Canary. You'll see their banner ad across the top of TBN from time to time. I figure with the cutter bar and a toothbar, the bucket will be nearly indestructible.

Screwed 2 pallets, some 1x6's to complete the floor, and some old porch railing to make a man-lift. I drive into place, raise the loader, chock wheels/keep in gear/set parking brake/drop implement on ground/lock the joystick, and use a ladder to climb up. Works well. See attached picture.

Markie,

That's what I had in mind. Simple but effective. I'll have to remember those chocks though. Jinman, did a google search on kc canary, found their site but couldn't find that tooth bar. Any idea where or what category it's hidden under?

By, you didn't need to go to Google, you could have searched the NH Owning/Operating forum and found what you need. You will have to call these folks and give them info on your bucket's measurements. I'm going to do it within a month myself so I have the toothbar for Springtime work. Here is the info:

...and this thread from the not-to-distant past has a post with a picture of the toothbar by by John Miller III who was a TBN information legend in the early days of TBN.

Jinman,

Thanks, wound up reading that entire thread. I take it you gave up on the swiveling forks idea? What's been your experience now 2 1/2 years later, do you backdrag with the back of the bucket? Are we looking at 3-4 hundred for that toothbar also?

Thanks,

Yep! I gave up because I don't think it would be wise to get the toothbar up away from the cutting edge and take a chance of something foreign getting in there like a rock or a big root. That would leave the toothbar kinda hanging out there unsupported (since you can't see it from the operator's seat) and it could easily be bent or broken. I think it's best that the toothbar is rigidly attached to the bucket lip. I'll just backdrag with the back of the bucket if I need a really smooth surface finish. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think a toothbar from K.C. Canary is probably about $375 plus shipping for one of our 72" buckets. I don't think that's too much since it's pretty much custom made.
