Two ways to look at draining oil in my book. Cold, all the oil is in the pan, not up in the engine. Hot or very warm, the oil flow easy and drains out better. Truth is on my mind both is ok if you give it time to drain but I usually warm it up first.

Who has disabled the auto stop start feature? I plugged in one of the led under tailgate light bars and the computer thinks a trailer is attached and disabled the feature. Some are turning it off with a computer hack but this seems like it could be risky.

Though I know the power to handle 12k lbs is there, I have always felt 1/2 ton trucks were a little light to handle that weight. If I were towing regularly in excess of 8k lbs, I would be in a 3/4 ton at a minimum IMHO.

I agree completely. Using the old F-250 I towed that 12K lbs load several times. Since mid 2015 using the F-150 I've only towed that load once in 5 years and that for 22 mile journey to a dealer for installation of a new cutting tool.
I realized the circumstance when I bought the F-150 expecting to rarely tow that load.

I just turn it off with the button above the radio. Dumb feature imho.

On mine it re-enables itself everytime you shut off the truck. No way to permanently shut off. This way no forgetting to shut off each time you start. I don't like the additional stop start cycles on the engine and starter.

There doesn't seem to be a setup option to permanently shut it off. I really don't mind it. It doesn't shut off at every stop and I've been driving hybrid cars for years so I'm used to it.

If it's warm out mine shuts off almost every stop if you don't slightly move the steering wheel. That's a lot of stop start cycles to save a tiny amount of gas.

Does the AC still work when it’s shut off at a redlight. I could see that “feature” sort of working in heavy traffic but it seems like a big waste in light traffic driving.

Supposedly the computer keeps the engine running if hot or cold cabin. Once things stabilize engine cuts off and fan lowers. I've had mine disabled off so long don't remember if it's very hot out if it stays running for AC.
