Another picture of the home I have on this property. Not much but it's home. We live about 4.5 miles from Lake Hartwell in South Carolina. Maybe one day God will allow me to build a home but for now I intend to help others.

Those are some substantial trees you are makin' firewood out of. I got me a crane for the bed of my truck at Harbor Freight. I had to sandwich the truck bed with some steel plate to keep the crane from distorting the truck bed. Now I can load heavy wood, implements, and large antique furniture without liftin' anything heavier then the remote control for the winch I mounted on the crane. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I still managed to rupture a disk splittin' some really big oak. Be careful with your back, replacement parts take years to make. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You are very welcome. I look forward to helping the people that need help with it.

See this link about the Snag in it coming together HELP PLEASE! I need Serious Help!

Yes the CAT did a nice days work. Unfortunately we have had two days with severe thunderstorms, yesterday and today and possibly tomorrow. This is causing washing and delay on the project.

Thankfully I am not going to have to split this by hand. The gentleman helping me clear this with the 953 Cat is going to load the logs and take them to his place where he has the equipment to cut into firewood and split it. Then he is bringing it back here for me to distribute it among the people that really need it for this winter. I will load my 4X4 Chevy and take it to them in person. I look forward to seeing their faces when I deliver at NO Charge! Giving is such a thrill. I am glad to be able to help these people. Who knows... I might need help one day and someone might be able to help me. I have been there like they are and some nice people helped me and I feel like I should be able to help now. I don't have much but I will share it. I only wish this country was like it was years ago when neighbors helped neighbors. No one had as hard a time back then. I guess those days are mostly gone now but if I have anything to do with it I will bring them back. Good people have hard times every now and then. Unfortunately I have spent all my money now and I only have me to do things to help. God gave me the will and the strength to do this so I give God all the Glory and praise for what I am doing. I am but only a tool in God's hands.

( This is my first big project. I am clearing 1.5 acres for a Truck Patch Garden. They have been several plant closings in our area and because some of the people have more than one car and a house payment and other things of value accumalated over many years of working... they can not get help from the county food stamp office. I plan on taking a little over two acres and farming it to grow food to help these people. Hopefully sell some of the produce to cover the seed and cost of doing this. However... even if I do not cover the cost I am still going to do this. I know how it feels to be down and out... I have been there. Who knows... could be there again one day.

At any rate, I am clearing the land of under brush first, the I will cut trees and use for firewood this winter for myself, my dad possibly some elderly people who can not afford to buy wood.

Here is a few pictures of the job. I started today and will continue to post pictures of progress as the job is done. This picture is as I started as you can see it is very thick under growth.

OK LOOKS LIKE POSSIBLY TOMORROW THE DOZER CAN GO BACK TO WORK!! If it doesn't rain tonight. On Monday they should start again at 7:30 am.... too bad I won't have my tractor here to start plowing and cleaning the roots up. What a rough and bad situation with my tractor in the shop.

Nice pictures. My broadband connection and I love the pictures. My logger seemed to worry about marking up the trunks by taking the tree with the stump. Instead he plans to cut the tree and then dig the stump out. Of course, my logs are not going to firewood so that is a big difference.

The land is shaping up real well with few rocks. Amazing how the forest in your first pictures is turning into such a nice place.

More Picture of clearing. I am just about ready to start preparing it for planting. Unfortunately with my tractor down I am going to have to get another which I can not afford or maybe borrow one. Any offers would be greatly appreciated. I know the people that will benefit from the food from this would also be greatly appreciative.
