Last load was actually about 3/4's of a load. Ended up over 7,000 board feet. Sure is a lot of firewood. It's going to help people this winter especially since the fuel costs are so high.

Sorry to have to break the news to you, but that wood when cut to length and split, will need at least one year to dry before it can be any good for firewood. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I know you mean well, but the poor souls trying to burn green wood will not fare too well.

I realize that. But when mixed with dry wood that we already have from the guy that is helping me... it will do fine. Here in the south... we don't get as harsh of winter as the people in northern areas of the states. Most of the time it's above 32 in the winter here and we don't have very much snow most of the time we have one or to ice storms or snow storms a year. So the green wood burns a tad slower after getting the fire started and it lasts longer. Also our winter really doesn't get cold until about January... so it will have about four months to dry and cure.

I had to clear alot of timber on my property befor i moved on to it . I tried to give it away for fire wood if people would come and get it /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif i had t burn it to get it out of my way. I saved alot of it for campfires for my son and my brother in law cut and busted some of it and took too his friends. I tried to give some of the oak and hickory to my neibors because there needy , good people but older and health problems. I told them to get theier kids to come and cut it and it was free, i had to cut it when i had time and burn it to get it out of my way also. If i would have had the time and been able i should of did it myself and hauled it to them. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
