About the same here, Don. Officially at the airport, 25, but my thermometer on the patio shows 35.

We had 4-6" of snow yesterday. My friend about 20 miles west of us got 18" off Lake Michigan last night. Spring my eye! :)

You just live in the wrong part of the country. I was aerating the lawn this morning and, as you can see in the attached photo, the buds are just starting to open on the Bradford Pear trees. But with this crazy weather, it was 25 degrees here this morning and 61 now.

I love Bradford Pear trees. We had a nice one, over 40', that got heavily damaged by ice and wind last year. I am trying to save it, but man, is it an ugly tree now.:(

I'm afraid I don't know much about trees. We have a row of 4 Bradford Pear trees across the back of our yard, and one in the front yard. But one of the 4 in the back yard is different from the others. While the one in front and 3 in the back have buds that have started to open, that one in the back barely has visible buds right now. Our first Spring here, I thought maybe that one was dying because the other 4 bloom earlier, but then that one will bloom just like the others, but considerably later.

That same lake effect snow that Dave mentioned made it all the way down to my sister's in Indy. I joked with my mom in FL about it heading her way. She was not amused...

Speaking of Indy.... I had to take my wife out to her mom and dad's last night at 12:30am so that my wife could drive them to Indy by 4:00am. Mom has been on the organ donor list for 4 months and got the call last night, of all nights, that they had one for her! All day the local news was saying how bad it was south of here with that band of lake effect snow going down to Indy... and my wife was not looking forward to the drive. I called them about 2:30am and they were 70 miles south and sailing along at 75MPH. No snow! Bad forecast, snow was never hitting the ground. Just a few flakes in Indy. They made the 135 mile trip in less than 2.5 hours. :) And... mom got a new organ this afternoon and is in recovery. Wife will be there with her dad for a few days and off and on again a couple times a week for the next month. So.... even though I prefer winter, I will gladly take spring so they have easier drives down there and back.

And, of course, my sincere and humble thanks to the family of the organ donor. What a thoughtful and unselfish thing to do. Kind of fitting that mom gets a new lease on life in the spring, isn't it? :)

Yep, that's some good news for sure. Of course at my age everything may be worn out, but I've made sure all my family knows that if there are any usable parts left when I go, let someone have them.

I agree. What's the point of burying them in the ground when someone else can use them to LIVE! My family knows my wishes. :D
