Here's the NE elevation. The large opening will house an 8'X8' fixed glass. Operable casement windows will be on either side of it in pairs. Transom windows will be above them.

Re: First: The Land. Now, the house on \"The Land\"

Here's a view from the future wildflower Savannah we hope to restore with house in the distance. The house will have an 18X18 screened porch off the dining room and a matching 18X18 pavillion that bridges between the garage and the body of the house. For those interested, I'll post later on when the trusses are set next week and try to show the series of stacked hip roofs that result from this design.

I'm dead tired now -- working my practice and building get tangled in one another. We're thrilled with the house, though and have spent 2 years in the planning stages. When it looks more like a house, it will be easier to see our design ideas. Hope no one became bored so far!

Bill

Re: First: The Land. Now, the house on \"The Land\"

Looks nice. I also agree with you, it is tough seeing the land you have cleaned, and kept up, get that first bunch of dozer tracks in it. I just went through the same thing as you. I got my land in 2000, and just moved into the house a few months ago.[ That is ANOUTHER LONG story, that some of you know] But just to help you along, and get you through the time you have to go, it's SO nice when it's done. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Right now, I am sitting at the table, with a coffee in my hand, and three dogs at my feet. Looking out the back window of the house, I can just see the light of dawn poking over the trees. No other houses in view, no cars, just a nice quite morning, watching my trees, and grass grow. It's nice to finly be home. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now I'm really getting curious. Is that a golf course and are you building a clubhouse?

Re: First: The Land. Now, the house on \"The Land\"

How exciting Bill! Takes me back to our home building project. How about some construction details... Using a GC? Doing any of the work yourselves? When do you plan to be in? How far from your current home?

Thanks for posting the pictures and keep it up /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
