Well we finally got some snow in Western CT, I would guess we had about 4 + inches or so on our new 500' long driveway. I was so excited that I couldn't wait till the snow stopped to get the BX23 with my blade on to check it out. I was worried about the turf tires on the driveway as it is a little steap in one spot. I am excited to report that the ease of operation, time to complete the work, and final product all way exceeded my expectations. She pushed her way through that 4 inches like it was nothing, and of course I know that it was really nothing, but I feel pretty good that it will work pretty well even on more. Bring it on!

QUESTION, not related to plowing: Can you engage and disengate the PTO while in motion?

SOUNDS LIKE A BLAST! I wish i had a front blade or snowblower and cab...someday mabey, right now ill plow with my old 73 ford truck, and push back with the 23.
All of us who buy the 23 say the same thing.I cant believe what this tractor will do,it exceeds my expectations.I bought mine last febuary, and couldnt believe the snow banks i could push with the thing...practically unstoppable.Ithought the hoe would be the weak link of the setup, but couldnt really try it til spring thaw.Boy was i wrong,it will dig til no tommorow, and i could pull rocks out that i struggled to push away with the tractor
If she burned up tonight,i would replace it with the exact duplicate tommorow.Igot over 200 hours on it,and love it ,youll love yours too.have fun post often

That BX will amaze you, everytime you step off of it & look back at what it has done.

You should give it a name & count it as one of your kids or beer buddy, that actully works..

Have fun, leave some for us...

When I read the thread line I thought you were plowing as in plowing ground not snow and I was wondering how big a plow a BX23 could pull or if they made one that small. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, you can engage or disengage your pto in motion. It's a live pto and uneffected by forward or reverse motion of the tractor.

Have fun plowing snow, dress warm and have a hot cocoa waiting inside.

I have the heavy duty front blade, I believe it is the 2763 with the skid shoes, so I plow straight ahead. The blade goes up and down and it angles left and right. I really love this baby, although as someone wrote, winter will get old even with an awesome plow.

I will report how she works with more snow and get some photos for you guys.

I am interested, what can I expect to pay for the heavy duty plow????? How much (deep) snow is the BX capable of moving with the front blades. I have the BX23 and a rear blade, but here in Southern New Jersey it seldom snows enough to warrant the blower (it does at rare intervals) and I might be able to do a quicker job with a front plow. The Bucket is useful at moving snow piles though. I would need the whole set up. Worse case is I might need to swap back to the bucket occasionally.

Yes.

I'm in Northern NJ and purchased the BX2763 setup last year. I think the total (blade, quick connect, and skid shoes) was just around $1600. I have stated in earlier posts that I have been disappointed with the blade setup in any significant snowfall. The BH rescued me from being stuck a few times last winter! The real problem is that the quick connect bracket sits very low to the gound and does not lift the blade very high so it is easy for it to get caught up in snow and cause a drag on the tractor when trying to back up. The other issue is that the BX is just not that massive so it gets tossed around quite a bit trying to push slow to the side with the blade angled. The bottom line is that it gets the job done but you may have to go out there more than once and you have to be careful how you proceed. It is a very well engineered setup and comes on or off in minutes. I often drop the blade off the tractor, leaving the quick connect in place, then attach the loader to move the snow.

Good luck,

Joe
