Hi, I just bought a new JD 620i. I want to put a full windshield on it. I have read some of the posts that plastic one will scratch up. I will not be doing any serious 4wheeling with it,mostly will be used for farm chores. My questions are, would you guys get the full plastic or the glass windshield and do either or both fog up during the winter. I appreciate any help!
Thanks,
Brent

Go with glass if you can..The plasic ones scratch just by looking at them. can't even wash them off without getting hairline scratches. My back window is plastic. Aside from washing it, it never gets touched and it's a mess.

Slightly different perspective. If the w/screen is made of Lexan or hard plastic then as long as you care for it properly, it will last quite a while, Not as long as glass but typically get good service from it. My Harley has a wind screen which is subject to some nasty flying insects at road speed. Hasher environment then you refer to. It is 4 years old and just as clear today as new. I tour 5k miles/year that include trips down to the Outerbanks and the sand has yet to damage the w/screen.

Now here's the trick - proper care. When it's new, wax it! That's right use a good carnauba paste wax using only a clean micro fiber cloth. Apply w/vertical stokes only. Remove the dried and harden wax using the same method. This will prevent swirls and horizontal lines which highlight imperfections in the surface.

For fine scratches, I suggest using NOVUS #2, Fine Scratch Remover. A little elbow grease goes a long way.

At the end of the day, if it's about the cost, I believe you can buy 2 Lexan or Plastic w/screens to 1 glass.

BTW I should mention that my 900 has a glass w/screen.

I have the 850D. I got the half widshield from JD and then went to a glass shop and had a piece of tempered glass cut to make it a full windshield in the winter months. (The glass sets on top of the half windshield)The half windshield works great in the summer months. Best of both worlds..........

Do you have any trouble with the window fogging up in the winter. I am not going to put doors on mine, just the ops top and full windshield. I just don't want to put it on and spend time constantly wiping it off to see.
Thanks,
Brent

It won't fog up if you have an otherwise open cab.

Thanks Stuckinnj, I took your advice and the Lexan windshield on my Kawasaki Mule looks new again, through and through. (Sorry, couldn't help myself there.)
