Tractor
Mahindra 450
Have been reading alot of the postings in here and thought I would join. Just bought a used 1994, Mahindra 450 2WD Diesel(my first tractor). Not sure if it was a good choice, but not knowing anything at all about tractors I thought I would take a chance and see if it would do what I needed it to do. Also came with a 6ft. brush hog. I also have the assistance of a new Sthil chainsaw that has been working me to death. I have 7 acres that is heavily wooded and thick brush. I am in no hurry and not wanting to completely clear it. I would like to keep all of the big trees and just clear out all of the brush and smaller trees on about 4-5 acres to make it look nice and eventually build. I would like to take maybe an acre to completely clear to eventually make a garden. The property has been in our family for years but has been untouched for probably 25 years due to different circumstances. If anyone has any advise or ideas of wht would be the best implements, or strategies or anything at all I would really love to hear. Thanks and Look forward to being in this forum.

My situation exactly! 15.5 acres, half big timber and half natural regeneration. Had a dozer push the small stuff into piles to be burned and left anything 8" diameter or larger. i have a Ford (New Holland)3930. A FEL w/toothbar and a good boxblade seems to be all that's needed to clean it up. A bush hog to keep it clean.
