Tractor
Kubota b2920
I'm very excited to be a new tractor owner. I have a Kubota B2920 with FEL, bush hog and scrape blade coming at the end of this month. Never having owned a tractor before I have a few questions.

1. There are several stumps and logs I want to move. They are already out of the ground. Where do I connect to pull these? I've heard the 3-point hitch is a bad idea.

2. I have several areas that I would like to remove small trees (2" and smaller in diameter). Will the FEL/blade scape these out? I've heard of using the FEL and pulling up on them. What's the best method?

3. Would I like having bucket teeth on the bucket if I'm moving a lot of dirt?

4. Are there any good web sites that show the best way to use your tractor for different activities?

Thanks!

Congrats! You will never use a wheelbarrow again.

First off, take it real easy to start. Go slow, learn how your machine works, and how to work your machine safely.

1. There is a draw bar below the 3 point hitch that would be perfect to haul the stumps. Get a clevis pin, a good chain, and you should be good to go.

3. Having teeth for the bucket is a great addition. It protects the front lip of the bucket, allows you to 'dig' with your bucket (mind you, these buckets are not meant for heavy digging), adds a little bucket capacity (by extending the lip), and makes it much easier to use the bucket to carry stuff like large rocks, logs, branches, etc. The teeth, however, in my opinion, are much less useful if you are just moving loose dirt from one place to another...I like to remove teeth to move 'delivered' material as the loads in the bucket tend to be more controllable.

4. This site has had discussions about every possible use fo a tractor...do a search.

Cool I have a B2710 and you will enjoy that 29 I would pick up the stumps with the fel if you can and carry them that way or just keep your bucket low and push the were you want to go. I now have a grapple which I use for doing this but it's how I did it bg

For little trees you can just have your bucket pointed down and scoop under the trees. I did this before the grapple.

Everything attachments has lots of urine videos on opperating different pieces of equipment. There are lots of good tools brush hogs boxscrapers. Graders. I would also think about a rake they are inexpensive comparatively speaking and pretty versatile. Enjoy you will have lots of fun

Do not "pull" with the FEL,dig yes ,don't pull.Have chain hooks weld to your bucket.Tooth-bar is a great addittion for digging.

You can pull the stumps behind your tractor with a chain on the fixed draw-bar with a clevis (provided it came with a fixed drawbar, and you buy a clevis) or if they are small enough and you can get the bucket under them or roll them into the bucket by hand, you can carry them that way, just keep the bucket very low, and go slow. It helps to have chain hooks welded on to the bucket top edge (may need reinforcement) in line with the loader arms, to throw a log chain (5/6 grade 70 20 footer would be good) around the stump to keep it from falling out. see my avatar picture. Be sure to keep your rotary cutter on as ballast if you haul much weight in the bucket. Remember very low and slow when hauling heavy loads, never take off with the bucket up high, you raise the center of gravity and then it does not take much for a rollover to happen.. Yes 2 inch trees can be pushed over/scraped out with your tractor. I don't have a tooth-bar and have gotten along without one but most people that have them say they are a big improvement. you may also want to look into "loading your tires" as an aid in Front End Loader work for extra ballast and hill stability. good luck and happy safe tractoring.

And post a couple pictures! Watch it come up the driveway, have the Mrs. take a shot as you back it down off the trailer, etc.
