First Tractor on the way

Congrats on your new tractor but don't get rid of your wheel barrel. You may need it the first time you get stuck to haul jacks and timbers when no one is around to pull you out:laughing: Take it slow and listen to all the good advice, so add your location, because advice will be different if you are in a swamp, desert or on the side of a mountain. You won't have to answer 20 questions to get help when you are asking for it:thumbsup:

I was seriously looking at a B2910 awhile back - nice tractor. I was looking to upgrade my 21hp. If you have never driven a tractor much start slow. Play with all the levers and get the feel of the hydraulics. Find the lever and know how to shift into and out of 4wd. Disengage 4wd before driving on solid surfaces like asphalt and concrete. With 4wd engaged you will see how the front wheels cut into the dirt in a sharp turn.

Get used to the hydro and the speed ranges - how the tractor responds in different gears. On the FEL you can lift and curl the bucket at the same time. At some point you are going to want to move delivered material. The manner in which I get a full bucket is to drive into the pile slowly - no need to ram it in or spin the wheels. Lower the FEL to just off the ground. As you slowly drive in lift and curl the bucket at the same time. A little practice and you will get a full bucket each time.

Be sure to make the wife feel like she is still loved - and enjoy the tractor because you will be spending more time with it than her! :)

I had some repairs this fall on my newly acquired BX. My wife refers to it now as "the other woman".

Be careful with the wife, had to buy her one of her own.

Urine videos explain what to do when you feel the machine trying to tip over and there is nothing to do about it. You know how you suddenly get that warm wet feeling.

I have found the Brush Grubber to be pretty good for extracting small sapplings. But the success still is a function of type of tree/roots and soil. The B2920 is pretty light and it doesn't take that much of a tree to be more than it is capable of pulling out. If you decide to try one of the brush grubbers, you don't need the heavy duty version with the 2920, the regular version is plenty strong.

Brush Grubber, Model# BG-01 | Weed + Brush Removal | Northern Tool + Equipment

I pulled a lot of downed trees with my 2920 using a chain attached to the drawbar. Then once I got them to where I was going, used the FEL to create a pile.

As others have said, keep the FEL low to the ground when traveling. It can get pretty unstable once you get the FEL in the air and hit a little bump or drop a wheel in a hole.
