I can't really comment since I've never owned either tractor but I do have a couple of thoughts. First, do you need to load the tires if you have a backhoe for counter balance? I'd say no. I'd also say turf tires would be best for what you describe.
Also, the Kubota is a step up in size compared to the JD. A BX size would be more in line with the JD. A BX size or the JD would make for a lighter more maneuverable mower, but the Kubota 2920 would be better for loader and backhoe work. Did you think about skipping the backhoe and renting something like a miniexec when you need it? Backhoes are pretty pricey, but if you need it, you need it. I know I wish I had one at times. The 2920 would without a doubt be better for your food plot work.
