Like the bigger 4707 but I got the biggest one that I could really justify...Dad started with 8N then got a Massey 135D and I like them. Not to say all tractors may be great, but My Preference is Massey red.View attachment 578644, pic of my previous 2007 1533 that now makes my friend happy! It did a lot of work like part of the background patio for my honey.
I think your tractor is awesome. Congratulations. It's nice to see people not brainwashed by orange or green.. in the last 5 years, MF has done their homework and has super machines out that are very competitively priced. Fit and finish are excellent. Best of luck with your new baby

View attachment 578634I just bought the new Massey Ferguson 1760M and they use the Shibuaru motor with NO DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER! It has awesome power. Yes it is foreign made but also just sold a 1533 Platform and it had 0 issues. Just changed the oil and greased and it kept on going and going. If you are in Roane County then you should call the Tractor Dealer in Gallipolis, OH, Jims Tractor,(740) 446-9777 and they will give you a great deal and Massey has some pretty good interest rates or 0% on some with no hassle financing. Took me about 2 hours for them to return my call with approval. The 1760M has 16.9x26 aggressive ag tires and 9.5x16 on front. If you must have the R4 it is 18.4x24 and 12.00x16.5. They order all with R1 tires unless you insist on the R4 which are not good on hillsides and snow!

Thank you for the info, I was thinking the R4 tires would provide more stability for the hills but it sounds like the R1 tires might be better for me. I really like the non-dpf Shibauru engine that Massey is using in the 1700M series. I went to Lemmons Farm Equipment in Parkersburg and they have the 1735 & 1740 cab models in stock, but I am waiting to check out the 1750 and see if the size is better for my land. Also I like the cab idea but I can only afford the 1740M if I go with a cab model or I can get the 1750/1755 ROPS model. I am a cash buyer and not interested in financing anything. Although I prefer the brand name the Massey Ferguson provides the RK55 cab for $29k is hard to beat. I also generally think that any tractor made in Japan or South Korea is a quality build. I am not going to make a final decision until I can sit in the 1750/55.

You really need to check with Jims Tractor. He beat all the other Massey Dealers with the price by over $2000. I drove 1:45 t pick mine up when there is a dealer within 15 minutes of me. They do that good on price. They had a 1750 platform tractor a couple of weeks ago in stock. Great service also and filled my rear tires with fluid in the price. Also the only thing the R4 tires are really good for is wear on hard gravel surfaces and loader work on flat ground. They are slicker than glass on ice in the snow. The large flat lugs are more for wear than traction. They also don't go very well on soft muddy surfaces.
