Thanks Eagle1, I have found that manual, and printed off all 197 pages(there goes my black printer ink), good info but not what I need the most.

I do have some new, good and bad, information, as I was able to spend some quality time with it this afternoon. I located the wiring to the glow plugs, traced in and back out of the dash panel, to a button I had never noticed before, and EUREKA I have functioning glow plugs and they make starting this thing fantastic!!!

I did find a partial label that tells me a phone number to call if I need an Owner's Manual(highly doubt it will actually pan out), but I will call it tomorrow with my fingers crossed. The label names this tractor as Long Agribusiness. which was bought out by LS as I understand things.

Now the bad, almost every electrical plug I can see is broken, with loose wires hanging everywhere! The important things work(as far as I know) so they may not be needed. It sure does eat at my nature to have all things correct with my equipment. May have to just shut my eyes when I work on the important stuff. The tach cable came out of it's sheath in pieces and until I figure out a way to gain access to the engine compartment it will have to wait. I am going to have to completely remove the engine cover to work on anything in there.

So for now I will continue to hope for a previous owner of one of these tractors to show up and adopt me till I become proficient in all things LT280D.

thanks again, keep the info coming

Redraider, an older tractor such as yours is not a complicated piece of equipment, you sound like you are mechanically inclined, I believe, although I am not being much help here, that you'll be able to figure this out. As far as your wiring is concerned, attack each circuit one at a time, trace them out like you have started . . . you can do it.

I don't know anything about your tractor but I do know about a tractor with a front end loader and I know you are gonna really enjoy using your tractor. And TBN is a great place for tractor info, Welcome!

Alright, more great information!!!! Thank you Doneill for your confidence in my abilities, I should be able to do this, but as far as the wiring problems go it will be an unbearable task without a schematic, and knowing nothing about the possible functions available! Most of which I probably don't even need. Right now I am just trying to figure out the necessary parts, familiarize myself with those and make sure they are in the best possible condition. That Mitsubishi information will definitely help.............thank you.

Keep it coming guys

Thanks for the responses, the make is all, or some or none of the above mentioned brands. My research has pointed to a couple of old brands that were split off of mother company as tractor divisions on their own, then bankrupt and returned only to be absorbed by LS, who does not claim any responsibility for any owners info. I think it is an early to mid 2000's model. The dash panel says LG Machinery, the side metal says Long Agribusiness, and the plate on the frame states LT280D. When I search that info I get all kinds of tractors with that model #. My best hope was LS, when I emailed their home office I was curtly informed that "owner's manuals are given at the time of new sale".....goodbye!!!!!!

So, I called the nearest LS dealer and as nice as the gentleman was, he knew nothing of this brand, and wished me luck on finding what I needed. As some might have noticed, there are more than a few of us out here in the same predicament, needing and looking for information but nobody has come up with anything worthwhile.

The reference to Mitsubishi was to inform you of the engine only.

The key switch has off, on and start, and when you release off of start, it goes back to on, so I wouldn't think that on would be the glow plug energizer position.

Thank you again, hopefully a past owner will show up with first hand knowledge.

Key position for glow plugs is normaly anti-clock wise, it is spring loaded and has to be held in that position for about 10 seconds, release and turn to start. Later model tractors turn key to on and a dash light that looks like a spring will go out, then start.

Update Alert............I was loosing hope on getting a manual for this tractor, then I did a search using the only MFG. name I hadn't tried, Farmtrac! There it was a service manual. The funny thing is, the manual offered for a Farmtrac tractor was labeled "Long Agribusiness" which is my tractor. Oh well, it seems as though it is only a partial manual, which I am glad to have, it does seem incomplete.

So, if anyone here gets wind of a wiring schematic for a Long Agribusiness/Farmtrac/LG Machinery(and possibly other brand names) for a model LT280D, drop a comment here please.

I did find that he tach cable is broken, so with more investigation I should be able to fix that.............I hope there are generic cables available through regular parts stores.

Anyway things are looking up and I feel a little better on getting info that I will probably need in the future.
