First visit to a Rural King

I like Rural King better then TSC as well, but our closest one is over an hour away.

Yes, I have teeth. They're orange. But I have them. The great thing about those orange slices is you can eat them now and save a little in your molars for later. ;)
Circus peanuts and mint spears, too. 😛

We went to Rural King once during 'Chick Days'. This was before the pandemic. They had free popcorn as usual. And the chicks for sale. And some rabbits. And ducks. And they had a hay scramble set up in the middle of the store. They took some of their corral panels and made a large square, spread hay all over the floor, tossed in wrapped candy and coins, then let kids go in and scramble for the treasures. Sounded like great fun.

Parents don't realize:
A - how much hay gets stuck in kids' clothes and hair when the scramble through it. 🤣
B - how much hay dust gets kicked up inside a space like a store, and how bad it is for people (like me) with allergies! 🤧 🙃

Man, I was laughing at all the little scare crow children while crying and sneezing at the cloud of dust. I actually had to leave the store it was so bad. But great fun for the kids. (y)

Just found out there is one about 25 minutes away up in PA.
Malted milk balls. Yum. I like cherry and orange slices too.

But seriously, Rural King has a pretty darn big candy selection. Someone should be able to find something there that they enjoy. (y)

The candy section has shrunk down considerably from what it was a year or so ago. The aisle facing the checkouts used to be all candy, meat sticks and jerky, was only half that now. Probably supply chain problems.

It still is at ours. Always grab a 2lb bag of beef stick ends and pieces at minimum

Two completely different stores in our area. TSC is really clean, well stocked, and very well staffed. RK is usually a dusty mess, hit and miss on stock, six employees at the service desk that ignore the checkout. But they do have a decent firearms section (very little ammo) and better prices. Free popcorn and coffee! Those $8 jeans don't fit me worth a darn.
