HTML isn't allowed for security reasons. We could allow .doc and .xls files again, but when opening them, some people are prompted for a username and password to access the files...

John,

Here's the example (<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/forumfiles/1-44155-KubotaB&BXComparison-revised.htm>Kubota B series comparison</A>), that now is getting quite ancient. It's exactly what you're talking about; an excel spreadsheet saved as html.

Yes...that's basically what I did... but Muhammad now says he doesn't accept "htm"... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
(So what's the work-around solution...?{until the XLS format is available...})

Bill,

Can you try to attach something now {Excel spreadsheet converted to HTLM} and see if it still works for you...

save the excel as normal, open powerpoint insert the excel file in blank and then save as a jpg or gif and then attach as normal.

Thanks Dan.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hi Muhammad,

I periodically come on TBN in different time segments of the day and evening...

For some reason, around 1pm EST it seems to be a peak period of use... and especially since you updated this "fresh" look and feel of TBN... it's even more so...

I just noticed right now usage of 32 registered and 33 non-registered members...

Now that's a lot of people sitting around sipping soda and coffee in a cozy 16x20 living room shooting the breeze.../w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Exactly, what are the stats for peak/low usage, non/registered users...etc.

Can you give a little history milestones...?

Thanks...!

Basically, we're running at peak right now, in January ... our most popular month. So the records are being set regularly. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

11:00AM EST is our busiest hour. 6:00-8:00PM we get another peak... 2:00AM is our "quiet time" ...

An average of 1884 different people log in to the site each and every day of the month ...

Weekends are consistently 30% less than weekdays in terms of users, traffic, etc.

Monday is our most popular day.

Yesterday, we passed 6 million hits in one month for the first time ever.

Highest post day was January 17th ... 443 messages posted.

And just think, less than four years ago all you wanted to do was chat with a few fellow Kubota owners. Now you have authored a tractor book, have the largest compact tractor site on the web, are winning awards and don’t have time to own a tractor./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Life is full of unexpected twist and turns./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks,

I have another significant "stat" to share with everybody. I use Alexa, a web site info and ranking tool. According to Alexa, TBN is ranked as the 9,855th most popular site on the web.

To put that in some perspective, there are presently more than 28 million total web sites, so that puts TractorByNet in the top .035% of web sites.

These numbers are actually quite astonishing. I visited quite a few other tractor related sistes, and TBN is rated higher than the corporate sites of John Deere, Kubota, Cat and all the others I checked on. It even gets more visits that the Audi corporate site, for goodness sakes!

These are no small accomplishments, especially considering that Muhammad runs a fulltime business, and maintains TBN "on the side." Geez-- to think how many billions of dollars were spent on web sites that have long since died and been buried in the dot bomb debacle, while TBN just keeps growing and getting stronger.

If I needed advice on how to build and run a top rate web site, I sure know who I'd call...
