This device came up in a discussion sometime back. I thought it would be fairly easy to make one, although I admit I bought this one. Scruffy asked for some pictures, but none were ever put up, at least that I could find.
For people who have never seen or used one of these, I'll explain. Hopefully, you can see in the picture that it is not much more than a 2" PVC pipe with a screw cap at one end, and an air valve in the cap. At the other end it is a cap with a nipple in the middle that is attached to a length of hose with a clip on type air chuck.
With this device and the tire goop, you can take care of most flats. The goop is sold in various size containers. I usually buy the gallon size, and it runs about $14.00 to $16.00.
All you have to do is, remove the valve core, clip on the air chuck, unscrew the cap and fill with goop, screw the cap back on, and shoot air to it untill you can hear that all the goop has gone into the tire. Then reinstall the valve core, air up the tire, and your good to go. As you drive the goop sloshes around in the tire and seals the leak, and will seal any additional leaks.
I have found that one tube full is enough to treat the front tires on my TC29D. I haven't had to treat the rear tires yet, but I think back when I used the old 9N, I gave the rear tires 3 or 4 shots.
I have alot, and I do mean alot of thorns on my place and I swear by this stuff. You might have to retreat the tire every so often but it's still easier and cheaper than other methods of flat repair.
