update: Am told there is no cross reference (evidently) for NSK to Timken bearings so, have ordered new NSK bearings for my replacements that will ship and be here next Tuesday. There is a chance my bearings are under warrantee as my mower was made in 2017 but decided I just did not want to deal with calling Woodmaxx besides, they would likely mail me one bearing only and I want new on both ends.

So some thoughts on my mowers bearing issues. My Son Adam installed new bearings and seals, all is well now, in fact, the mower operates much quitter than the 1st day making us wonder if it even had grease in the bearings at all. We had given it a couple pumps after 4 hrs but thinking by then the damage was done as it kept getting nosier and nosier. It now sounds like a vacuum humming along just fine. Adam had called Woodmaxx three different times over three days leaving voice messages concerning purchase of these NSK bearings and some general questions about the mower itself but none of his calls were returned. He then decided to get them via a bearing supply Co named Applied Bearing Technologies where he purchases all the bearings for his gravel crushing equipment. He found through this company that the mowers NSK bearings were an odd size that do not cross reference with other makers but were able to get them from an overseas supplier NSF or something like that saying, the bearing were top quality steel and as good a bearing that can be purchased. The bearings were very expensive as well. Knowing nothing about this type of product I must trust this supplier, just so the mower works! Anyway, in the end all seems to be ok but have some disappointments I will keep to myself. Thanks to all who gave suggestions on what to do, you are the best as usual.

I believe your right about the bearings never have being greased my last mower had sealed bearings and when I replaced them one had no grease and it didn't last 15 mins.before squealing. These mowers have 2 less set of knifes in each row than my last one which makes for not quite as neat a cut. A guard at each end of the roller to keep grass from winding up there would be nice as well .

Agreed. Have to overlap at least one foot to get a clean strip cut.
