I've used 2 17" monitors for about the last 5 years. I find that having two smaller monitors is much easier to work with than one large one.

I think most PC's today come with a dual connector for two monitors. On our integration stations at work all of our PCs have double 21" flatscreens. Sure, there is alot of real estate, but I just can't seem to warm up to the fact that you have that blank space in the middle where the two monitor frames meet.

I have a feeling your interested in top quality if you already have a 21 inch, but for anybody looking for an affordable flat screeen for a good price, check out the Balance models at WalMart.

For $200 I bought a 17 inch one that totally blows away my previous monitor. Very bright and clear!!! No flicker or fuzzy edges!!! Everyone who's seen it is amazed at how sharp it is and of course, nobody can touch the $200 it cost.

I don't have dual monitors for this reason. One effective use of dual monitors is when programmers can have their development environment open on one monitor and use the second monitor for testing their code. Change the code on the left monitor, watch it run on the right monitor. I think Dreamweaver supports this.

I run dual Dell 19" flat panel monitors on my machine. Most cards today have an anolog and digital port to run either kind. If you want to run dual digitals you have to purchase a video spltter cable. Take a look at the following:
