Well if it has a tube, how hard is it to pull the tire off and repair the tube? Patching a tube is pretty easy.
As a 1st experience it can be pretty hard. You need to know the moves and have proper tire tools. Sometimes it is difficult to break the tire bead away from the rim and displace it to the dished area in the center of the rim so that you can get enuf slack to lever it over the rim edge a little at a time. You have to take care not to pinch the tube as you work with the tire tools. When replacing the tube it helps to powder it so that it easily slips to a neutral position in the tire to avoid creasing. If youve never done a big one try to find a coach or watch someone do it. It will look easy only because theyre making all the right moves.

I don't have the same kind of tires as you guys do, but a few notes. It is a real bear to manuever a tractor tire. Thankfully yours is not loaded yet, so you may be able to man handle it yourself. I know of guys who have back hoes who use it to move it, or neighbors back hoe. There are many tire companies that will come out to your place and replace / fix the tire so you do not have to hastle removing it.

Finally, if you have tubeless tires, replace the valve stem with a steel valve stem. I am in an area with blackberries, those stalks are so thick they act as nice short pokers and knock all my conventional valve stems out.

been out side getting the shredder disconnected and found it definitely has a tube and there is a metal piece of wire protruding out of the side of the tire, so that's the culprit. There is another piece of wire in the other tire on the soft part of the tread, but that tire isn't flat. Not sure if I should leave it in or not. I would think that I should take it out since has a tube.

The bead is already broken. Probably from when I had to edge the tractor forward away from the shredder so I could get a jack under it. I guess I'm just going to try and take it off and take it to a tire repair shop. Of course, I don't have a 1 1/8" socket. I'll have to go get one.

2 more cents from me jack the tractor up on one side only block it real good use tire irons, old leaf spring or big screw driver, in side bead and out side bead in center of the rim then you can pry the out side bead off the rim starting at the valve with the out side off you can pull the tube out at the hole only and patch it. Put it back in pry the bead back on and air it up with the core out let the air out then put the core in and air it up. not as hard as it sounds if the bead is broke loose. hope this helps.

Thanks for all the advice. My neighbor let me know of a tire place that will come out and fix it. Should be around $40. I was going to do it myself, but I got better things to do with my Saturday..lol.

Had the flat fixed this morning. There is a tire company a few miles away that does house calls. They fixed it in no time. I was able to observe how he fixed it and I may be able to do this in the future myself. Just need to get a few tire repair tools. Got on the tractor for a few hours and cut another 6 or 7 acres.

sigh.. another flat. Funny thing is, I was just spreading gravel. Same tire, so maybe the patch failed.

Did the guy that did your repair find and remove the puncturing object. What was it? Was there only one hole in the tube. Unless he pulled it completely out and checked it, and the inside of the tire, he may have missed something.

it was a piece of wire and he removed it and checked the inside of the tire. He seemed very thorough.
