Tires FLAT TIRES

Haven't had a flat tire since we started using Multi-Seal. How do you like fixing flat tires /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've had to plug three flats on my left front tire only. Even years ago I never had a flat on the rear of the 8N, but did have them on the fronts.
I meant to pick up some slime today, tired of plugging tire.

And they always went flat in the middle of the field where he was spreading manure! )</font>

BTW,
It's always the fronts /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif, and it's usually not one, but several mesquite thorns that get it; however, thanks to a next-door construction site, I did manage to hit a roofing nail pretty square on the left front. It ain't the one leaking on the left though. So I left the nail (plug) alone. Oh yeah, these are almost new tires, and yes, I have about twice the recommended amount of slime in them! I love mesquites in the yard though, I got about 25 of them.

I'm assuming that multi-seal similar to slime. Do you have tubes in your tires. I've read that tubes cause problems w/ slime. At walmart, they have green slim for no tubes & yellow for tubes. I've got a few old burn piles i'd like to clean up, but i know there are nails, so i need to make sure i have protections b4 i start. also. the dealer filled my rears w/ alcohol, so i guess i'm screwed on protecting those.

Al,

You may want to get a big magnet and go over the area first. I do that then use the FEL to scoop so my tires have less of a chance of getting into nails. I have nothing in my front tires (foam, slime...) and have yet to get a flat cleaning up burn piles.

As I've said before, a couple of years ago my record was 13 flats in one year, on two tractors ... all in the front. That was preSlime. Since then, I've not had one on a treated tire ... touch wood fast. But, as far as your theory goes, I have had flats on the back too, only 3, I think. They are a booger though as there is nobody around here that will come out to fix them anymore because of liability issues. It's up to you to get it off, get it in, get it fixed, get it reinstalled. Oh, I hate a flat on the rear!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Does anyone know if slime will work on water filled tires?

   / FLAT TIRES #19
I don't think slime will but they do make a version of Multi Seal that works with filled tires. Try a search on Google for Multi Seal, I believe it's called the Hydro version.

:DISCLAIMER: I have no past experience with sealants used in filled tires, fact is I have no experience with filled tires as I don't believe in the stuff. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only flat i ever had was the rear tire on my 2n, but that was because i got hasty when putting the chains on and broke the valve stem /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
