Well I picked up this 1994 titan 20k gooseneck. I got it for what I think is a pretty good price. The cancer wasn’t to bad. Looked like it sat untouched for many years. I will be using it daily. So I decided to squeeze in one more fast project before winter.

I started with fabricating a chain rack, basket , and added a front tool box.
New junction box and led lights all the way around. 4 new brakes and seals for the drums. Added led lights on a 3 position switch so I can run them on reverse or flip to aux power for work lights.

I decided it needed a fast paint job and I’d like to go into next year having a trailer I can hook and go. So I got a cheapo sand blaster and shot the bad spots of rust. Wire wheeled and sanded the rest.

Started with hand brushing the primer. Today I got to spray. Wind sucked but I used it to keep the drift away from the house and me.

Wheels will be last to paint. But all an all I’m happy with it. Still under half the cost of a equivalent new gooseneck tandem dual. This one’s 20+5.

Nice work. How much does it weigh?

Looks nice. Just a quick glance I don’t see a lot of overspray.

It weighed 5980 at the scrap yard. So I’m going to guess maybe 6200 with the added in steel framing , box , chain basket.

The over spray isn’t to bad. I used rust oleum implement paint so it’s pretty heavy already. Thinned it out a decent amount and added hardener.

The frame was over all very solid on this trailer. When I looked at it there was green in areas and it wasn’t the normal pounded through salt water look. It looked as though it sat for 10 years. The deck and ramps are in extremely good shape. So I wanted to salvage this trailer and finally get the trailer I’ve been wanting. Just came a whole lot cheaper on the wallet but more elbow grease.

Thanks guys ! Sure beats my current trailer I’ve been using. Weight wise this wasn’t bad at all. Most of the time I’m hauling a jd333 skid steer around, pipes , fabric , buckets.
