EXACTLY and so did I. I even added one to my diesel pickup truck. Easy to check for water and contaminants, easy to drain and easy to replace the spin on filters (if needed) as well and nothing gets by them either. I have not touched the primary engine mount filter since I added the Racor fuel polishing unit and interestingly, all new Kubota's that are now common rail HP injection come with a Racor clone in the fuel system. Worth every penny of cost far as I'm concerned and really easy to install as well. There's nothing special about the floating rings in sediment bowls, as long as it physically fits. That said, it's not difficult to see a water line without the ring.
I replace the primary filters on my diesels with larger Racor water separating filters. They are the best and easiest to service filters I have ever used.
