Floating the FEL on a BX23

I found the Float position by accident (was in a rush and thought I broke something) I can tilt bucket when in float position(that is why I still tear the Cr** out of everything) But I do need to pull stick back pretty hard to get it out of Float, it just doesn't feel right.

OK I am a newbie here but just in case this was never brought up. The "Float" position on my brand new (6 hours) BX23 is up and to the left (about 10:00) if I push it straight forward it just bottoms out the FEL and lifts the front wheels off the ground. I lower the bucket to the ground and then push up and a little left and it locks in the float position. I believe this is what the manual says too. Hope this helps anyone that is still having trouble finding the float position on their FEL

Here's a good question ... and I have yet to try it out. Does the float work with the FEL off the tractor and the front snowblower attached? I gotta give that a try the next snow storm.

that's exactly how you should be using the snowblower- in float mode!!!!

I have the front blade on a BX23, and the float position does work on that. I keep the plow in the float position almost all the time while plowing. My float position is straight forward, past the detent. Occasionally it will pop out of float if it gets bumpy, but it isn't really a problem, just have to be aware of it.

On my rig I have a 22-way 16 position valve with flow-sensitive dynamic cushioning and prortional pilots for all permutations of direction changes - completely bumpless no matter how careless I am with the lever or throttle. It's laser-guided and programmable - with presets for "driveway" "mountain pass" and "airport runway". It came at quite a price but I no longer lie awake worrying that someone at TBN has something better. It's heavy too, so I had bigger rubber installed on that side to compensate.
