Nice. Be aware that with a planer you will fill that oneida bucket in 5-10 min of steady work... I have a pretty large 5hp grizzly cyclone and fill the ~50 gal bin in an hour or so of heavy planing...

There is a place south of Sacramento that sells 50 gal plastic drums with removable lid for $25. I've been thinking about that as a back up plan if I have to empty this bucket too often.

These simple floor stops worked so well on the planer stand I decided to add them to two other stands. The cutting table was easiest, I just welded two coupling nuts to the bottom rails. The rolling base for the miter saw stand was a little more work, I welded nuts to a piece of plate then screwed it to the bottom of the rails. Both stands have two fixed casters and two swivel casters, so two floor mounts to raise the swivels up is all that is needed.

Nice work as usual Pat
Anyone know why Acme thread rod is so pricey?

On acme rod, I dunno. Why it should be so much more costly than ordinary threads is a mystery to me. Just steel, cut or rolled, only difference is the angle, pitch and thickness of the thread. This floor stop application is otherwise perfect for acme threaded parts.

On earthquakes. I have been out of California for all major quakes in last 50 years. Good planning. BUT when we were still in coastal Virginia, I had just completed a 1200 sq ft deck on our house on the Chesapeake. After lunch I stretched out for a well deserved nap on the brand new deck. WHAM a major earthquake hit and woke me up. This was in 2011. I concluded that lunch naps were a bad idea.

Volume, pure and simple. Billions of miles of regular threaded rod made every day...not so on Acme...
