Cobbie,

What kind of airless sprayer are you going to use?

I looked at some sprayers in the big box store and was not sure if they would work so I just used the garden sprayer as well as a rag.

Later,
Dan
I going to head down to one of the local paint/auto body paint stores and see what they have to offer and make my choice then.coobie

I use one of those air siphon sprayers like they sell for engine cleaning, works very well. I do sometimes thin the Fluid Film with any solvent I happen to have on hand like mineral spirits, MEK, or paint thinner. I sometimes even cut it with bulk WD40 I also buy by the gallon;)

Ok, I got smart for a second and read the Fluid Film FAQ. :D

They said to use a airless sprayer at 60-80 PSI. Don't use a pump up sprayer.

The FAQ said to thin Fluid Film with veggie oil.

The bulk product is THICK. In the winter I set it out in the sun to warm up before stirring. I'm going to try the veggie oil to thin the Fluid Film and see if that works better in the pump sprayer.

They only sells this at JD dealers which was interesting and surprising.

I bought it in the spray can. I love the stuff. I use it on everything that has a tendency to rust. Coat battery terminals and metal around the battery including the battery tray to prevent the acidic corrosion. I even sprayed my leather work boots. It sprays like oil but then turns to a honey consistency almost immediately.

Hmmmph- that takes all the fun out of it:cool:

The FAQ said to thin Fluid Film with veggie oil. Be sure to watch out for those Trans Fats:D

OK is this some sort of promo? Where do I get it at the best price?

I researched it.... only people I found selling it are the ones mentioned here..

JD dealers and a few on the net.... my local JD dealer only has the spray cans, not bulk.

I, too, would like to see where the best location/price is... or if there is an competing lanolin product... I looked on the net and didn't see any in the short search I did.

Seems everybody who uses it likes it (a lot)... personally, seems like best idea would be to get it in a can and apply appropriately. I never heard of the stuff until this thread popped up.
