Fluid Film rust perventative ??

Hi,
I'm Bob from Kellsport Products, distributor for Fluid Film. I've received many calls this week from people on this forum. I appreciate your calls and interest. Fluid Film is available at many John Deere dealers, as well as New Holland dealers, some Napa Auto, and many other independents. Unfortunately some areas have a difficult time finding the product within a reasonable area. If you can't find the product, just give me a call or visit us at Fluid Film Rust Preventive & Industrial Workwear

I have many accounts that apply the bulk Fluid Film for undercoating auto's, buses, and trailers. Everybody seems to have their own preference as far as the sprayers and technique. One account that uses an awful lot tells me that since vegetable oil is more expensive than Fluid Film, he thins it out with a very light oil and it works just fine. Many people use the Wagner sprayers and tell me it works just fine.

Fluid Film does not pump well in a hand sprayer. I tried it thinned out in several different types. Too much work, and it does not flow well.

In any case, I don't want to intrude on your forum with a sales pitch. But if you have any questions at all that I can help you with, even finding a local dealer, please don't hesitate to call me.

Bob

I've been a solid believer in Fluid Film since I first tried it about 6 months ago.

Use it for everything that needs lubrication:

Trailer jack
Barn door rollers
Battery terminals
Door hinges
Door locks/keys

Excellent stuff!

And, a little plug for bob1008 from Kellsport Products -
I placed my first order from him - making a long story short, I've never received better service from an on-line vendor - period!
And his price on Fluid Film can't be beat on-line.

Buy with absolute confidence

Cobbie,
What kind of airless sprayer are you going to use?
I looked at some sprayers in the big box store and was not sure if they would work so I just used the garden sprayer as well as a rag.
Later,
Dan

If anyone has had real good success with a particular sprayer and Fluid Film, it would be greatly appreciated if you would share it with us. We are trying to find an inexpensive airless sprayer that could be made available to Fluid Film users. The Milwaukee Sure Shot was tried but I'm told the results were not that good. I've had a lot of conversations with the techs as Wagner and they are sending me a couple models with assorted tip sizes to demo. They believe the tip size is the critical component, moreso than the sprayer. We are trying to find a sprayer than can handle Fluid Film without thinning it so that it is applied undiluted. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can vouch for the milwaukee sure shot being not very good with the fluid film.I tried mine yesterday and thinned it with light weight oil,it just pissed out a small stream.Oh well back to the drawing board,I will look at other air compresser sprayers.coobie

I bet a automotive undercoating spray gun would work. Fluid Film is about the same viscosity as some undercoating products I have sprayed before.

I use a conventional siphon feed spray gun with quart can. Converted it to pressure feed with a kit and it works perfect for spraying FluidFilm.

Can you post photos, give further description..I'm sorry, I don't understand what you did... also maybe discuss and/or show via a photo what the spray pattern is.. and effective distance..... you seem to have found a solution that has eluded several othes... I'd like to understand further... sounds very promising:)

I use the spray gun for general application and the pump oiler for squirting fluid film into cavities where the spray gun won't work.

thanks for the photos.... do you thin the fluid film or spray it straight.
I understand it is rather thick without thinning....
