Old Indians had dryer sheets? I was afraid I wouldn't learn anything today. ;-)

This is TBN. You just never know what knowledge is coming your way and where it'll come from.
But seriously, give it a try sometime. It takes the bugs of but leaves a little milky film. That hoses right off easily.
Back to the original topic: I spray my 2 mower decks with FF. So far it seems to be helping keep grass buildup down.

I'll definitely try both tips. Can't always mow as soon ad I'd like, so grass build up is sometimes a problem. Thanks.

I tried the drier sheet hint and it really works. I have tried several other approaches and none of them worked very good. When I tried this, the bugs just disolved away. As JJZ pointed out, there is a milky film, but it wipes right off. I also had to keep dipping the sheet in water.

Great tip. Thanks!

FF sounds like high-tech Cosmoline to me. . . probably easier to apply and remove, but does essentially the same job.

Dryer sheets are good for wiping down surfaces to prevent static build-up. The same thing can be accomplished with fabric softener mixed with water (1 tbsp per pint). The fabric softener leaves a thin conductive coating that neutralizes static by being just conductive enough to discharge the static charge before it builds up. A thin film of soap works well also.

Completely different thought -- Dryer sheets also work great to remove soap scum buildup from the shower stall in your bathroom :)

Probably not an old North American Indian but an old bloke from the Punjab, India.

They're known as a dhobeywallah = washing man. :)

Bob,

I tried to order Fluid Film Assortment Kit #1 using the "tractorbynet" discount. Was informed that the discount was no longer valid. I want to try Fluid Film anyway but could not get rid of "tractorbynet" in the Voucher field. So I exited the web site entirely and started over with the order. No big deal. This time the "tractorbynet" was gone but the site kept giving this: "You must select country & zip code, even for free shipping. Thanks.", even though I filled in the fields. If I don't "hear back" soon I will order the kit the old fashion way, via phone. :)
