Kubota BX 23 S
So I have a new Kubota BX 23S that I took delivery of two summers ago. It has exactly 100 hours on it and has never caused me any problems. I recently took off the mower deck and attached the loader and backhoe for winter storage in my garage, and have recently been noticing that I have a hydraulic fluid leak that is slowly dripping from below the tractor. I placed a piece of cardboard between the rear wheels and a small spot about the size of a 50 Cent piece has appeared over the past week. By looking at the spot in relation to the bottom of the tractor it seems like it is dripping from somewhere just behind where the drain plug for the hydraulic fluid is? Does anyone have any suggestions on where this may be coming from? Or should I just take it to the dealer? I have already tried putting a ratchet on the drain plug but it is so tight I cannot even budge it. The bucket on the backhoe has leaked down to where it is parallel with the floor. When this happens does the excess fluid get squeezed out from a valve that may be causing this leak?

For me, the hydraulic quick couplers are problematic. I have $20 worth of 50cent spots where my tractor parks.
Did this show up just after you put the hoe on? and are there quick couplers involved with that?

Get everything on the tractor clean and dry - really clean, no oily residue. Blow some talcum powder in the vicinity of where you think the leak comes from. You'll have a better idea of the actual source.

I’m not sure how long after I put the backhoe on that this started. I looked at the quick couplers this evening and didn’t notice any oily residue around them. It seems to be leaking from the bottom part of the tractor maybe an inch or two just rear of where the drain plug is.

If you want the answer you will need to get out the flashlight and climb under and all around the machine to identify the source of the leak. If thats too difficult, take it to the dealer. No sense in asking anonymous people on a user forum what/where the problem is when you cant even take a photo of the problemed area.

These are the best photos I could get. Any chance anyone could tell me what they think the source of the leak is and whether or not that it might be covered under the warranty

Thanks for the photos, that helps. It could be the gasket leaking which I would consider a warranty item. Get some new cotton or paper rags and clean the area thoroughly to determine if it’s leaking at the drip or migrating from somewhere else. Keep checking the area until you find where the leak is originating. The photos will help you show the dealer where the problem is. Dont worry, you will get it sorted out!

What's all the stuff on the side? Gasket not seated properly? Sealant squeezed out?
