Thanks for the info. I can’t get at that pin to remove just yet as I need the arm to extend so I have clearance to pull pin out. It’s nested inside the walls of the boom arm, and only when extended and the rod end exposed can pin be pulled. The dipper cylinder is above it but I can get at that pin so will remove it. Looks like that rod will need to re-chromed as it is gouged pretty bad. I’ll also do a hose to that one as it looks pretty rough.
I didn’t get the bargain I had hoped for, but this is only the second Gehl-mount backhoe attachment that’s been for sale near me for many years. When all is said and done I’ll have a good functioning bh with new stuff on it that mounts to machine as intended.
Good tip on the Loctite orange. I’ve looked at using Loctite 5452 on new quick attach fittings. Lowest price I’ve seen for it is $35 for a 1.7 oz tube. It is not really needed on the NPTF fittings on quick attach as they are tapered and seal by crushing the threads (which is why they should not be reused once loosened), but might be good for insurance.
