Foam filled tires

i need a remedy for the front tires on my tractor. I have had the tractor for 1 month and already had two flats. The problem is that the tires break loose from the rim and a small air compressor won't air it back up. I'm looking at getting them filled with foam rubber, this makes the tires very heavy. Is there any alternatives?

Foam fill is what I did. Although it is expensive and makes the tires heavy, you will never have another flat.

I use Slime tire sealant in my front tires. It does a good job.

I don't know if the tires are going flat from a hole in them or if I turn too fast on concrete and roll the tire off the rim. If that is the case I don't think slime will help. Maybe the tire pressure needs to be increased. right now it has 30 psi and I think the tire says 25 psi, but they still look alittle low to me.

I don't know how I missed the rolling off of the rim part. Like was said, If they are rolling off of the rim, you need to put more air in them. If you have a loader you will need to have more air to prevent them from coming off. The more weight on the loader the higher the air pressure.

To address a problem you mentioned, about having the tires break loose from the rims, and your air compressor not having enough capacity to blow them back up (reseat them on the rims).
Depending on the tire size, you can use a string, rope, ratchet strap, etc and wrap it around the tire in the center of the tread, (midway between the beads). Tie it a little loosely, and then stick a bar or rod under the string, and start winding it around and around, causing the rope to get very tight. This will force the beads outward, and allow you to seat the beads. Loosen the rope as you increase the air, as to not break the rope. (That is why you start the rope just a little on the loose size, so you can get it off once the tire is fully inflated)
I have to use this trick using a small piece of sting for dolly tires, as they are always coming off the beads, and my little compressor is small, but handy.

Are you carrying weight in you rbucket when this happens. Something seems wrong especially if you're sure you have 30psi. I've been on tractors for almost 50 years and never had this happen. As you sure the tires are on the correct rims?

Probably is not the Safest way to set the Bead on a Tire, But it is Fast.

Take the Valve Stem out , get the Tire started on one side of the Rim ( Long Side of the rim) , make sure the Tire is on Concrete or on Plywood if working in Gravel. Lay tire down so the side of the tire that is not on the Rim is up , press tire down so you can give a quick spray of Ether around rim, then a spray over the edge of tire across the floor about 5 feet from tire. Slide can of Ether away from you and the Tire, Light the trail of ether you just sprayed. Rim and tire may jump a little off ground, Tire is now set on Rim, replace valve stem and inflate.

DO NOT SPRAY , and SPRAY and SPRAY ether, just a quick Spray around 3/4 of the Tire.

The Larger the tire and the Heavier the Ply rating , this works well. Also in the Winter when Tire is stiff and cold, I have this method over the Rope method.

deerhunterf350, I have told my service people that if I ever see them using ether to seat a bead, I will fire them on the spot. Of course, we have the equipment to do the job properly and safely.

That being said, I have done it your way many times. It definitely works but always scares the snot out of me. Like I tell my kids, do as I say, not as I do.

Exactly, It is not the safest, it will definetly scare the "Snot" out of yeh, and when you have the proper equipment and a High Volume Air compressor, there is no need to use this method.

It works though.

Ive seen people do it that way but not remove the valve core, now thats scary.

That's a new one on me! A few years ago I borrowed my buddy's JD410, dug a sewer ditch. Next AM, his dad needed it to dig a grave, funeral party coming, big rush, and of course a front flat. We had the come-along around it and cable clamps and 4# hammers, finally got it to take air. Wish I'd known about the ether, though not sure it would work with the wheel on the machine (no time to R+R). Thanks!

I am sure it would work with tire and wheel on the Equipment,

The couple of times I have used the method, the Tire/Wheel was off the equipment, because of a true flat(that needed inspection) , bad tube , or needed new(Used) tire.

I have the same tractor and ag tires but with 723 loader. I have had exactly the same problem. What I have noticed is that my air pressure in my tires goes down slowly over a week or two. When the pressure gets between 15 and 20 psi they can break loose from the bead. Mine always broke away at those pressures when I had a heaping full bucket of dirt and was turning. I have no trouble at 30 psi. I check the pressure in fronts often especially if I am doing heavy loader work. My pressure always drops slowly and I never find a leak. Maybe that is your problem too. If not get tubes.

I have a Kubota B2910 with R4's and I have the same slow pressure loss problem on the front tires - pump them up to 35 and within a week or so they down to almost nothing. The right tire seems to lose pressure a little faster than the left. I took it down to the local tire shop to have them reseat the bead on the rim after it totally lost pressure one time - they checked it for leaks and found none.

It's been this way almost since we brought it home from the dealership back in May 2004. Had I known initially that it was going to be a problem I would have had the front tires foam-filled ...... as it is now, I've worn off enough tread that I'd hate to spend the money on getting them foamed ...... probably just stick some tubes in them.

Try running a little more air pressure to keep the tire sidewall from flexing as much and breaking the bead causing the tire to go flat. Do you have a front loader on the tractor?

My local problem leading to slow leaks is rose thorns I pick up brush hogging a neighbor's field. Sometime can't even see the buggers. I used to get them in the 3-rib fronts on my Massey 135, and thought I'd avoid them with the R-1s on my newer rig. Same problem, however. I seem to have stopped the leak with a can of goo, can't even remember who made it, maybe Armor-All? Used to take a week from 30# to 3#, now stays up.
