Folding ROPS

 / Folding ROPS #11
I have a folding ROPS on my 4710. It must be folded down to get the tractor into my garage. I also need to run it with ROPS down to get onto my wood lot to groom the old logging trails due to many low overhanging branches. Fortunately, all this is on level terrain and I don't have concerns about tractor flipping over. In all other operating situations, I keep ROPS in fully erect position.

Now, consider the other side of the coin... a typical TBN member, that mostly doesn't have anywhere near the experience... the odds are simply overwhelming...

John, I think the odds might be the same or better, with less experience, we are less likely to get complacent or careless as we don't use it as much.

What's that old saying, "Familiarty breeds contempt"

Thank you all for your responses. I am glad to see such a strong response and that all of you who responded use your ROPS in the up position whenever possible and wear your seat belt.

Chris, I am very sorry to hear about your brother. Thank you again for sharing this with TBN so that others can learn and hopefully avert a similar tragedy.

I hope everyone reading these posts takes them to heart and uses their tractor in a safe manner.
