Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Well, about a month ago I posted "FEL or Rear Blade" because I was having trouble with the Fill that I got when the government was ditching our road in preparation for paving. Thanks to all who responded. Henro's comment/advise was to let it dry out and then I'd probably be able to handle moving it better. Good Advise, Makes Sense. Well it's now 5 weeks later & not a lot of rain lately so I figured I'd tackle it again. I told my wife I was gonna spend an hour down over the hill & 2-1/2 Hours later I've got virtually nothing accomplished. Why, because I was STUCK; not just once but twice. I've got to rethink how I'm gonna level this area because what I'm doing now just isn't working. I'm thinking of coming sideways at it with the hoe & scraping the material & then moving it over bit by bit. This will be time consuming but should work; what do you think ??? When my wife went to walk our Greyhound and saw the mess I was in I think I actually convinced her that I was "working" not just "playing". How about some input, remember this is muck & roots all mixed together with the fill. Anyway, I'm attaching a few pics to give you a chuckle.

The Backhoe Assembly is virtually buried and when I try to pull myself out, I can't because of the volume of dirt.

How about your advise here. Is there a better way for a rookie like me to get out or is this basically the way most of you handle getting out of a jam ???

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Now this is when I really started to use the brain, since I just got myself out of my first mess I decided that if I moved up the hill a bit everything would be better (dry) and I'd smooth that out with no trouble...WRONG....Hung Up Again. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

I've had the same problem (stuck that is). Had my neighbor pull me out.
I was told that the only thing that will work is a TRACK HOE. The tracks will prevent the machine from sinking. Sometimes it is cheaper to either hire it out or rent one. I'm going to be finding out how much it is to rent one very soon. G

Last One, pulled myself out with the Hoe, now getting dark, call it a day & put her back in the garage for now. See what the boys on TBN have for suggestions & tackle this project at a later date.

Mine looked exactly like yours /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif! Didn't get any photos which really stinks. We could of had a "Who's stuck worse contest"; LOL. G
