Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Of Course, don't tell my wife, but to me, I actually was "playing" /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Heck, after I was done playing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I had to get the wife to play with me /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. Oh well, we chalked it up as fun in the mud /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. G

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Goodguy,

Aren't you supposed to take the FEL off and add big smoke stacks and go REALLY fast when you're going mud boggin' ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Are you trying to just level it for looks, or what do you want to do with it?

You need to mix some sort of material with it and that depends upon your desired usage of the area.

Hi
tracks don't always keep you from getting stuck, see attachment I had my track loader stuck and took a lot of work to get it out. I would wait until the soil drys out more

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

I have found the best way to get out is to extend the FEL out in front and curl the bucket to lift and pull on the front, over and over, slowly pulling the tractor along until firmer ground can be reached.
On the other had, use the BH boom and bucket to push or pull it. I have yet to be stuck that the tractor wouldn't get it out, but I haven't been in really bad soup yet, so there's usually some firm ground on which to push the buckets and lift/move the tractor. Another thing that can work is to use FEL and BH to lift the tractor up just enough to put materials under the wheels until you can get out. John
That ground you're trying to work is still WAY too wet for any successful leveling. Like I had to tell you!

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Henro's comment/advise was to let it dry out and then I'd probably be able to handle moving it better.

That's probably still good advice. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Great pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

I wonder if AG tires would have been more help in this situation?

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Another idea, if you have a lot of old trees and other stuff that needs burning, pile it on and light it up. Need to boil off some of that excess water.
Putting in rocks works well too, you've got more than enough mud to cover some big rocks. You need to get rid of all the water that is in the ground or start a pond.
My one rule with mud - if it is sticking to the tire(slicks) and starts to come to the middle of the hub - go find something else to mess with...

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

I though micro had a pointuntill I looked closely, they are R4's little fatter and wider, should have helped wiht floatation on that muck, but less lugs? hard to say if ag would have helped.

anyhow looks to me like needs to dry out much more. also you said road crew tore it up!?

call them make them fix it!!!

does not look FUN, but I have been in some SOUP too. one thing is to watch when going in, if it ruts or sinks some starting in, stop and leave, saves you the trouble and headachs...

I ahve a swamp on the property where the DAM used to be, (had a lake untill dam broke back in 40'/50's some time.) now lower end is a much hole.

today I plan on gone down there to burry soem junk left over form OLD burn piles. (mostly ASH which has Nails and brackets nothing toxic for sure!) anyhow the back hoe can help get you out, but also can add much weight and get you INTO more trouble!

Re: Followup to Post \"FEL or Rear Blade\"

Wow, you sure were stuck! Those R4s looks like racing slicks. Would it just be easier to rent a dozer or something?
