TnAndy, how many people are you feeding? It sure looks great.
What a beautiful well thought out setup,Andy!!![]()
Dang it...... you got the one I was looking for
Actually been looking for a small chest freezer for the house. But, at the moment they can't keep them in the stores. Gonna have to order one I guess.
I shop at Walmart. With the exception of toilet paper and flour, the shelves are fairly well stocked.
Chain grocery stores are still running loss-leader weekly ads. If the chains anticipated food shortage they would not promote loss-leaders.
Still, my pantry is fuller than normal. I bought two (2) packages of Lentils during my last Walmart run.
I am more concerned with the Fed and Treasury $four-trillion to $6-trillion into the $22 trillion economy. Potential for great harm to savings/retirement of the middle-class through inflation.
I am more concerned with climate change impact on crops long term, than Covid-19 effect on supply chain short term.
A lot of people appear to be buying seeds this year, the two Maine companies I usually buy from (Fedco and Johhny's Selected) aren't accepting orders at this point. Luckily for me I already have my seeds.
Chickens are also in short supply, but I ordered turkey poults yesterday and just ordered my meat birds this morning. They will be a little later than normal but that's OK.
I suspect that there will be a lot of laying hens available this fall when people realize how much of a pain it is to keep water from freezing for birds which don't lay well in winter.
For those who aren't familiar with it TnAndy does have a very nice setup, and has been living for years the way that a lot of people merely dream about. (including me.)
