What's this allen wrench issue? My Kobota OEM grill guard came mouted with grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts. Did they make a change somewhere before or after I purchased my BX?

I haven't had mine off yet but when I do I will shim top of guard out some to clear grill it looks like it needs only an inch or so so shimming top of guard mount out 1/4" might do it as long as it clears the loader.

A little tip .Tac weld the nuts to the frame on the back side ,and it makes removing/installing the brush gaurd a breeze.

The BX24 and BX25 come with the silver brush guard from the factory. They're the ones with the allen bolts tightened to 4 bazillion foot lbs. On the non-backhoe BXs like the BX1860, the Brushguard is optional and is dealer installed.

The last time I needed to take the cowling off, I was able to get it off without removing the grill guard. I took off the exhaust pipe extender, which is just connected with a hose clamp, and then was able to lift off the cowling.

I did the 50 hr service on the bx 24 with out taking off the cowl, but did notice that the lower edges of the guard the paint is peeling off looks like no primer underneath it

I thought Brazilians used the metric system

(take the guard off to remove the cowl)

Yeah, I made the conversion to accomodate my "Traditional" torque wrenches. Actual spec. is 5.4 Bazillion Newton-meters for the non-metrically challenged in the group.
