Well, I did some additional research. The tractor has a constant flow gear pump, so it cannot use a closed valve system or the pump would blow up or tractor sieze up. It's not a variable pressure vane pump. It must be an open system.

I suspect that the loader valve is a tandem open valve. In other words, it lets the oil flow through it to tank when in neutral, but blocks the work ports so the loader stays fixed in position. When the loader is activated, the flow is shunted to work ports, including apparently the power beyond port.

I cannot find any confirmation online anywhere so far, but it seems the adapter block does direct the oil to the loader valve and recieves the return feed so that the 3 point is basically in series after the loader.

I can't put them in parallel I don't think because the 3point still would not work with the loader value in neutral, since it would shunt the flow back to the tank.

I thought if I checked the flow of the loader valve, and determined if it was for sure a tandem open center valve, then if I switched the tank and power beyond hoses, so that it always sent pressure to the 3 point in neutral instead of the tank, and only dumped to the tank when activated, that that would at least let me use the 3 point unless I was using the loader, which is FAR better than having to use them both at the same time to use the 3 point.

Then again, it will also want to dump to the tank when unloading cylinders, and I don't want that getting all fouled up.

I thought about running the adapter block back into itself to confirm it is supposed to be first in an open series...ie pressure out, pressure in. If the 3 point operates as normal in that condition, then I can assume it needs an open circuit pressure feed to operate normally, and that I need the loader valve to provide pressure constantly, or at least when not operating.

i would first switch the hoses on the ports you belived to be tank and power betond on your loader valve. or.... un hook the them and bump starter to see which has flow when the loader valve is neutral. hook that line back up to your block and the other to tank and i bet you will be set.

on most valves reversing the tank and power beyond ports won't hurt anything. reversing power beyond and inlet can be bad, as it disables the pressure relief if the valve is equipped with one, and it will appear to be working correctly.

Did the bump test, and it seemed to confirm the flow through the valve. Then switched the tank and PB lines, and it works as predicted. The loader valve works fine, and the 3 point works all the time, except of course when the loader valve is being engaged. That's good enough for me.
