I did not see anything that said UTHF but this is what I got. Let me know if its the wrong stuff.

Bummer. All that work only to use the wrong fluid. :(

Hi I hope I am posting this in the right spot, I am new to this site and will bring my experiences to any of you in any way I can I have owned many machines and trucks and been through it all
I want to know if anybody can answer it I just bought a ford 1710 diesel 4x4 w/770b loader,740 hours I believe the machine is a 1986 I bought it from a new holland dealer mint condition they did a complete service on it all filters and oils, they also put new lights and a new loader remote as the other one was wiped out and could barely move the bucket.
After bringing it home and trying to dig out all this snow I find the loader is extremly slow ( my 89-91 ford 1520 was three times faster ) the service mechanic says this era ford loader is very slow , if true can I put a mid 90's or newer faster hydraulic pump on it to speed up the bucket from what I can tell looking at a newer 1710 everything looks the same but it is faster
or is it possible that the pump on mine is tired and should be replaced I have a 30 day warrynty with it i just got it back from them after all the work they did any help would be great
thanks

FORD1710 You probably should start a new thread, but there seems to be alot of Ford issues currently going on.I would be going back to them and question service manager a little more. Ask him since they serviced, what the pump flow rate, and at what pressure, what is spec. for that tractor. If he does not know I would say get it back before the 30 days and put a little emphasis on that is not good enough. If you start a new thread there is guys on here that are always happy to help out and a lot smarter than me!

If the viscosity is correct for the machine/environment, there are a number of different hyd fluids, and that includes motor oils, and ATF, that can be used.

When you take a hyd item into have it inspected and tested, do you think they use the particular fluid for the machine that the item was on at the time. They will probably use any fluid that is usable for the temp in the shop. That could be a selection of any of thirty different fluids.

It is best to go with manufactures recommendation.

For my Case trencher/backhoe, they call for HYTRANS, or ATF, type F.

It's really very simple. Underneath the hydraulic oil filter is a bolt that holds the oil filter housing to the transmission. Loosen it, back it off, and you'll find a long, hollow bolt. Since it sits on the bottom of the transmission, it collects anything that falls into it. In this case it was clogged with what looked like pieces of the paper filter. I took it off and cleaned it out. Drained out all the oil, replaced it and the filter and now it works fine.
