Ford 3000 hydraulic fluid in crankcase

I have a Ford 3000 and hydraulic fluid in going into motor crankcase pretty quick. Is it hydraulic pump seals or worn out pump?? Any ideas appreciated!

Does your 3000 have a hydraulic pump on the right rear side of the engine?

My 3910 and 4000 Ford tractor and both of the hydraulic pumps are in the rear differential. If I were to get hydraulic fluid in my engine, it would have to come from the power steering pump, and they can put hydraulic oil in the engine.

Ohh so it might be the power steering pump?? Interesting. I am a shade tree mechanic on cars. The tractors are new

If it were the steering pump causing the problem, you would be out of steering fluid every day. The can only holds a quart and a half. How much over full is the engine oil level, and is the hydraulic reservoir low? Your piston pump is the more likely culprit in my opinion.

Forgive my lack of knowledge on this. The piston pump? Where is that located— I am thinking on the left side of motor. The power steering pump?

The piston pump runs off of a gear mounted on the rear of the camshaft. It is possible for the hyd pump into the crankcase at this point.
