ford 3000 starting troubles

OUCH! Grinding for-ever- who said anything about that? Most engines now only recommend 30 seconds or less cranking. Have you ever seen a towed tractor collide with the puller.???

is it a standard gear model? if yes.. pull start it. you'll hurt it more grinding on it forever till the solder spins out of that 100$ core, 180$/replace starter.

PS.. it's fun to get to the 3rd starter bolt on a 3000D.. plan on taking the fuel filters and lines off and getting the battery and tray out of the way.. not to mnetion the steering arm is quite a bit in your way too...

if he's having problems bleeding and starting it.. I forsee lots of starter usage. don't need to be a jedi for that one.

colide with the puller? no.. I havn't seen it. down here where i live we use the clutch and or clutch/brake.. or if it gets really bad.. the fuel kill / ignition off control.

that and a safe length tow strap and you should be good... yer gonna be near ridding the clutch to pop her off anyway..

Okay, you win, what happened to the legal disclaimer? Sure enough, he has been on that starter, to bleed down the system, with several attempts before I wrote him. I hope we see from the OP the solution to it..I was unable to tow either of my Automatics....Jy.
