Hey Guys,

I have a 1986 Ford 340B with a front end loader, I am wanting to modernize the tractor a little by converting the loader to quick attach, and I would like to to add a third function so I can use a grapple. I am a competent welder/fabricator, so the quick attach is no problem, but I am still learning hydraulics and what my best route might be. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. As much as I would love to drop it off and pick it up with a third function, budget is tight so I will have to learn myself some hydraulics and DIY.

Tractor has an open center system, 22GPM. My current loader valve is in need of a rebuild, it has some miles (abuse) on it. I mainly am trying to figure out if I should have it rebuilt and modify the system for a third function, or if I should buy a valve like this one and plumb it into my system:

Does anyone know if there is a port available on the factory valve where I can add a single spool valve?

I don't mind having a separate lever for my grapple.
