Ford 3910 Solenoid click, no start

/ Ford 3910 Solenoid click, no start #11
voltage regulator's and alternator's do not prevent engines from starting

They do if the battery is dead from not being charged. :giggle:

There's no wires attached to the alternator? Is the wiring harness there? There should be four wires. One of those should go to the solenoid where the battery + cable is attached. If it's left dangling, it could short and lead to a catastrophe. A dead battery is just the simple result.

I have a diagram but it's three pages and not easy to follow.
