ford 4630
HI, I NEED HELP. I HAVE A 96 FORD 4630FWA. IT HAS THE DELUXE REMOTES ON THE REAR. I INSTALLED A BUSHHOG 2446QT LOADER ON IT PLUGGED INTO ONE OF THE REAR REMOTES. THE LOADER WILL PICK UP HAY, GRAVEL, ETC., IT IS JUST SLOW AND I HAVE TO GIVE IT MORE RPM THAN I SHOULD TO DO THE JOB. i DON'T THINK THE HYDRAULIC PUMP IS WORE OUT BECAUSE THE TRACTOR DOES NOT HAVE THAT MANY HOURS ON IT (1000). I TRIED TO ADJUST THE DETENTS ON THE REMOTE BUT STILL THE SAME RESULT "SLOW". I DID NOT INSTALL A POWER BEYOND KIT BECAUSE THE LOADER BOOK STATED THAT IF YOU HAVE DELUXE REMOTES YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL THE POWER BEYOND. OH YEAH EXACTLY WHERE IS THE HYDRAULIC PUMP INSTALLED ON THIS TRACTOR? IS IT INSIDE THE REAREND? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP. THANK YOU

Have you adjusted the flow control knob on the remote? Adjusting the detent won't affect flow. If you have deluxe remotes, you should have a pump driven from the rear of the camshft (left rear corner of the engine) as well as the main pump mounted in the RH side of the rear axle center section. Both pumps should provide about 17 GPM to the remotes at rated engine speed.

is that because it's a 30 series? my 7610s has the d-remotes but no aux pump. that's the one thing that bummed me out about it.. that and the small battery compartment.

Rick, I have turned the flow control with no luck. from low to high it is the same speed. Do you know where I check the pressure at on this thing. Thanks for helping.

More a product of the 'S' series being an economy unit. Less features.

Stuff a 3000-5000 PSI gauge in one of the couplers and stroke the valve to check pressure. If it will lift gravel, bales, etc, but slowly, you have a flow problem, not a pressure problem. My money is on a sticking spool within the priority pack/combining valve located on the front top of the lift cover just in front of the seat.

ok cool.. knew it was something.

I can't argue about the price though.. the economy units well.. were darn economical!

Haven't had a chance to look behind the engine for the pump like Rick B asked for yet. When I figure this out I will return with a verdict. I will also check into the sticking spool also if I can figure out exactly what I am looking for. May just end up having to load her up and take er to the dealer. Man I dread that bill but something has to be done before I wear out my clutch.

won't be behind it.. but rather on the left..corner.. either be there or not..

Ok, I know it has been awhile but here goes. Hooked up gauge on the back and got right at 5000. I now know the pump ain't worn out. Also she does not have a pump behind the engine that I can tell. So, now where do I go from here? If it is the proprietary valve, is this a complicated operation? Thanks for your help.

If you truly have 5000 psi at the remote valve (which i don't believe) seek a dealer's help immediately. If you have only one hydraulic pump, a slow loader will probably be a fact of life. You should have both pump flow and relief valve setting checked by a competent person with reliable test equipment.

i wonder if perhaps he was reading the kpa scale.. which.. 5000 kpa would be low psi.. like700 psi.. etc.. IIRC.

I was wrong about the 5000 thing it was 3200psi. I do now believe it is the pump. I have it at a mechanic friend of mine who after being mind baffled thinks the same. I do also believe it has only the one pump in the rear axle. If I have this pump replaced is their a stronger pump that will fit in its place that will pump more gpm to compensate? Let me tell you having a slow loader is one thing, but picking up hay bales or anything else on a slope is a pain in the rear clutching and reving rpms on the column and using the joystick at the same time! shew!

IF it has the auxiliary pump it will be located right in front and above your left foot / clutch pedal. literally if fuel spills over it will drip onto it and there will be a filter on it that is the same size filter located underneath your left foot board. I would show you a picture but I don't have one of mine.

For you other Ford Gurus, if a guy has the auxiliary pump yet wants to reroute the hoses so they are not going through the deluxe rear remotes can I tee off of the line 'BEFORE' the combining block to go to my joystick control and the route my return line to the top of the rear axle where it empties from the remotes?

I have come to the conclusion I have a slow hydraulic pump. I do not have the auxillary. Is there a pump I can order with a higher flow rate? If so what would it be and a part number perhaps?

Well to leave nothing in question she needed a pump. Bought a new one (down on the right side by the lock in pedal) and installed her. Workin like a new one now. Wish it had an auxiliary pump but it doesn't. Thanks to everyone that tried to help!
