for a 68 that sure looks clean. We had a 66, 5000 that was tougher than nails. Select-O-Speed failed in 84, installed the 4 x 2 manual and our old neighbor is still running it today.

Good luck on the rebuild.

Yeah thats the main reason i bought it because of how clean she is but she needs the motor rebuild sounds like shes missing on number 4 and has pistin slap almost sound to it Haha that's great to know I can't wait to get it going would you by any chance know anything about a thermostart

Sorry, I know nothing about thermo-start. Ours had a glow plug in the intake manifold that was operated by turning the key to a given position. Been to many years and I can not remember which way. I do know ours was a cold blooded beast and didn't like to start to well when the temperature dropped into the mid upper 40's. Our 78, 5600 with basically the same engine would start down in the mid upper 20's with just the glow plugs.

Yeah when I say thermostart that's what I mean is the glow plug but it was done through the key switch then?

It was on both the 5000 and 5600. Ping soundguy. His Ford knowledge far exceeds mine.

I wanna see some pics once this baby is done. If you want input on paint I can give you some information to mull over. My 3910 should be done next month. Nothing like a old Ford tractor.
