:newhere: For those that have this tractor and/or similar models and need shifter boots. :anyone: I purchased the direct replacement ones and they didn't hold up but for a few months then they got hard and split. When they crack it allows water into the transmission
After searching for a few evenings I found some that fit very good but install a little different than the original. These boots are 3 and 3/8" tall with a 2" opening in the bottom and a 1/2" opening in the top. Made by EMPI Part number 1414535. Remove knob, pry off snap ring, remove spring and pull old boot off shifter. Wipe around the base to remove dirt ect and slide new boot over shifter and down into place. The small horn, for lack of better term, slide boot over it and push the boot down all the way. Then slide the top of the boot to where you like it. I then put a zip tie around the top and bottom to secure it in place. :welcome: When putting the zip tie on the bottom pay close attention to make sure the tie is around the bottom portion of the boot so it doesn't slip up and off. Very easy fix with a good fitting boot. :drink:
