My brother has a 2001 7.3 F250 4x4 reg cab he bought new. Still runs good.

But, I have a 97 F250 7.3 182k std SC lb 2wd. 2001 F350 7.3 4x4 auto rc fb only 97k miles alum wheels street tires. Clean truck. I have a Silverado 2014 crew cab 4x4 diesel deleted with 142k. I had a heart attack and don't need anymore.

I take all these articles with a grain of salt . You can never belive what information they are giving you is correct . Espically the point that ford and international worked together since 1994 . Ford offered a 6.9 international engine in 1983 then they bored it out to 7.3 1987 .

I should know I sat in the dealership and ordered a H.D. F250 4x4 auto fully loaded Lariet back in 1985 . 6 months latter truck arrived $15,500 out the door with my ford x plan. Fry cry from the $100,000 they want for a truck now . I could realy could give a flying f about how much they inproved they aint worth 10 time the price of that truck and god knows I ain't making 10 x times the amount of money I was back then.

I whish I was I was making 100k back then. I 'm semi retired making 80k . There is no way in he.. I could ever afford one. That ,s not to far from what I paid for my house in 1990. 🍻

I have a rust free 99 F350 7.3 PS 4x4 Crew-cab long bed dually with 230,000 miles, which I paid 8 grand back in 2011 and have repaired most all that needed repairing & equipped to haul a heavy slide-in camper etc.

Hopefully I never need to buy another HD pickup!

I have the same.
1999 F350 4 door crew cab dually. 7.3 with 6 speed manual around 160-170,000 miles. Bought it when it was 2 years old.
Kind of big for us now. no camper, no kids. just me- the wife and the dog.
been looking for a extended cab single wheel rear diesel to replace it.

Crazy prices and poor engine selection on Fords doesnt leave much to choose from. dont want to spend $50-100,000 either.

Somehow the 1999 seems a better choice

Yes I agree, it's kind of big for driving empty which is why we keep ours as a backup and also occasional RV use, hauling stuff as needed and also to have a 4x4 when we get snow & ice which does not happen often.

The way it's set up now, it can tow or haul anything I will need to do in foreseeable future.
Most recent big trip was towing daughter's car & possessions 1000 miles, no sweat!

:)

That's probably what it cost off the show room floor. The problem with those extended cabs the back door don't open. I t's a nightmare getting things in and out . Much less any person bigger than a toddler. But it's shure clean. 🍻

I always hated them every time we got a company truck that was an extended cab it was a struggle to get back there. The first Superduty came out with it in 99. I ordered one in end of 97 my build date was jan. 98 . Arrived april 98. When I ordered it sat in dealer and got every option avaible but I wanted gas v10.

It was $28,400.00 with ford x plan and tax. That aint even a down payment on one now unless you want a 1 k car payment .Not me cant afford that. That truck has 425 k miles on it and is a daily driver for my son . A Lariet 7.3 gas 4x4 extended cab goes for 75k now . 😲 🍻
